Badrun Khan : Archived

City Council 11104

Together, we can make NYC the greatest city in the country.

I am a first-generation immigrant and the eldest daughter of Bengali born parents who migrated to the U.S. in search of a better life. I was born and raised in New York. I am married and have two beautiful teenage daughters. As a teenager, I studied hard and worked outside school hours in my parents’ restaurant. I found the time on weekends to serve as translator in my community. I later graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College. For the past eight years, I have worked as a financial officer for nonprofit. I remain heavily involved in my Bengali Community in Queens and throughout the city. I was elected the President of the Jalalabad Association, whose members number over 14,000 people. Today, my service extends well beyond the Bengali community. I am an active presence in schools and service to all in my community, and volunteered and served with honor as a member of Community Board 2. I am a tireless activist for those who cannot advocate for themselves. My voice will be heard on each street in our district.
